Key Parental Information
Safeguarding
Safeguarding is a core facet of what we do here at Dalestorth. A dedicated team, including that of our Head, is there to ensure the prosperity of our students during their time with us.
Please see below for more information regarding the team - and further newsletters
covering how we keep your children safe.
Nursery '25-'26
Dalestorth has a strong belief that the beginning of an educational journey can make all the difference to the unlocking of potential.
We run a comprehensive nursery scheme that values wraparound care and puts your child in a position of strength as they move forward to learn.
On-Site & Online Safety
Our main priority is to keep your children safe. We have a number of daily safety procedures aimed to ensure that - these include;
We also believe that the use of the internet is an essential part of a child's learning as well as our own teaching processes.

Foundation Stage 2 Handbook
Starting school is an important event for your child and for you. It’s a very exciting time, but we also appreciate that it can feel a little daunting too, so we aim to ensure that transition is as smooth and happy as possible.
We look forward to welcoming you to our New Starters Parents' Meeting and inviting your child to attend some school visits to familarise themselves with their new teachers, classroom and friends.
General Parenting & Familial Support
As a state school, we have access to a wide range of facilities to be able to better your experience with us. These vary and handle different aspects of family, and educational life challenges
Family Service
Family service provides a range of support for you and your child. These include anger management provisions, attendance support, online safety measures and much more.
Family services will usually come through a school, or family referral, however, further parenting programmes can be accessed by using the link below.
Counselling & Parentline
All children in school know Childline as a point of contact for their concerns and worries, however for general day to day worries, they may prefer Kooth (especially older pupils).
Kooth is a free, safe and anonymous online counselling and support service. They offer the opportunity to chat to counsellors, read articles written by young people with similar worries and join live moderated forums.

Parental Views & Our Bi-Annual Questionnaire
We completely value the part you play in your child's education.
We will always do our best to communicate to you what is happening in school, how your child is performing and learning, what more you can do to help them and how we can help you.
We only know how you feel if you tell us.
Bi-annually we will send out a questionnaire so you can let us know what you think about various topics and make any suggestions to us for how we can improve or what you would like to see happen in school.
If you wish, click the photo below to also provide your views and opinions on our operations to Ofsted - the UK Government's inspection and regulatory body for educational and social care services.
